SKILL DEVELOPMENT
Throughout my time in the Emerging Leaders Academy, I have grown as a leader and as a person. There are five skills I've developed especially throughout the last two years. |
1) Self Image---how one views oneself
I believe I have a healthy image. Through my skill development I have learned that I cannot over-analyze what others may think of me, but instead find solitude in knowing my heart and the inner workings of my soul. 2) Personal Reflection---how one views the fruits of their labors in life, relationships, & inner harmony I often do not give myself permission to slow down and reflect. The times I have allowed myself this joy, I have learned to find passion in the things I can control & peace in the things I cannot. 3) Taking the Initiative to Lead---taking the risk to serve & guide others I have found that I often take the initiative to lead when I am passionate for a cause. My heart leads me and I find ambition and excitement in leading others. 4) Connecting with Others---being fully present with another & loving them where they are I have found this skill as my favorite and most fulfilling. At night when I look back on my day, I often find the most joy in the small moments where I connected with others and shared a conversation, wave, or smile. 5) Team Building Skills---finding the goal of the team & each members strengths The key to success within a team is making sure each member feels valued and heard. The team must share a common purpose and strive for the well being of the group. I've found this skill most in effect as I continue to coach dance. |
